# Tools & Gathering

> Use tools to mine, fish, hunt, chop and forage.

Gathering commands require a matching tool from the shop. Tools come in five tiers (Wooden, Iron, Steel, Diamond, Mythic) — higher tiers multiply your payout and last longer.

| Command   | Tool needed          | Cooldown |
| --------- | -------------------- | -------- |
| `,dig`    | Shovel               | 2 min    |
| `,fish`   | Fishing rod          | 1 min    |
| `,chop`   | Axe                  | 45 sec   |
| `,mine`   | Pickaxe              | 1 min    |
| `,hunt`   | Bow or hunting rifle | 5 min    |
| `,forage` | Foraging basket      | 1 min    |

Tools lose durability on use. When they break you'll need to buy a new one.

Buy tools from the shop with `,buy <tool><tier>`, e.g. `,buy shovel1`, `,buy pickaxe3`.
